Well we're here and settled. We have a house, a cat, and both have jobs we're enjoying. We also have a phone. The number is (02)8005 0562 and is a local number in Sydney. We would love to hear from you. There's also an ugly button.
Just to let you know where we are and how we are going…
We’re spending tonight up at Tauranga (towards the middle top of the North Island) in the Bay of Plenty. We’ve had some fabulous weather in the past few days but sadly today has been miserable, pouring with rain and blowing a gale.
We brought our wireless internet on the trip with us, but sadly their coverage doesn’t include much of the North Island, so we have been disconnected the last couple of days. I managed to get some more photos uploaded today. I won’t get a chance to name or label them, but feel free to have a look.
We’re on the road again tomorrow and working our way to Gisborne for New Years where we hope to be some of the first people in the world to see in 2009. Then working our way back towards Wellington to fly back to Christchurch.

Its been a while since we went to see it (on the 23rd actually), but we finally got to see my photographs in the exhibition at Te Papa (the National Museum of New Zealand).

We went into the Ourspace exhibition and the first thing we were met with was a map of New Zealand on the floor.

Well here we are in Wellington. We had a lovely beautiful day for our trip North on the train and ferry, and another gorgeous day yesterday. Sadly today has been miserable, but a lovely day to bunker down and relax in the hotel room.
We’re here tomorrow, and then hitting the road on Boxing day and heading North. We’re going round the North Island in a clockwise direction before returning to wellington then flying back to Christchurch.

We’re back, with a week to go.
The trip was great (minus a few car issues) and we got to see lots of the North Island. Our last week will be spent trying to catch up with friends, and finishing things we have started. We’re having a TimeZone Party farewell on Saturday and hope that people remember it is on.
Still no internet where we are living so we will be online sporadically.
See You All Soon.

I once heard a sermon from a guy who’s opening story revolved around being overseas and thinking about cheeseburgers, re-living in his head the experience of eating a cheeseburger and anticipating until he could once again enjoy one. At the time i wondered how anyone could get that excited over eating a cheeseburger - or any other food for that matter…. and so my story begins.
Almost 3 yeas ago I attended a conference in Wellington which went for only a couple of days, and since I was the only one who hadnt been before I just went along with the crowd in terms of what we did and where we ate.

its the morning of my second to last day at work and i can feel the ambient pressure beginning to build. and its quite terrifying. all these things to do and the ssmall amount of hours are looming but its not all bad. i havent had time the last few days to think about anything much so the reality of us leaving hasnt sunk in yet - so i guess thats a good thing.
in other news - the car has been written off (whiich makes it sound WAY more interesting) and we are looking forward to what they say next.
heres to endings and new beginnings

let me start by saying that jordan is fine!!!
but our car (which we have just agreed to sell) is not so fine. Jordan was rear ended on the way home last night and now we have to contend with insurance companies whilst going on holidays, moving home, and trying to get everything else ready.
thankfully no one was injured but its not the best way to end our final work week. the car still goes but has come out of the whole thing looking liked a craxh derby vehicle.
jordan did everything right so theres some sense of acomplishment in my lessons teaching him how to drive :)
